I have a doozie (very large and nasty) head cold which has moved in, brought the relatives , and seems to be planning a long stay. This sucks since we have to go out on another extended road trip possibly for a month.
The year to date since the holidays has been a pain. What makes me happy, what I look forward to, just to be left alone, to kick back, to ride my bike EVERY day. That's not much to ask. It just doesn't happen. There are well and good reasons for this upheaval but I just want it to end soon. And back to what I call "The slows" Looks like spring before that will happen. Sigh....

It wouldn't be so bad either but our travels are taking us up into the mountains of North Carolina. Stunningly beautiful and just as stunningly COLD. It sucks being cold. That's why I moved to the south almost 25 years ago. I'm reminded of a line from the movie Godfather Part 3. Michael has been trying to get away from his criminal past. Trying everything it keeps ending badly for him. "Just when I think I'm out, they draw me back in" He complains. That's my feeling about this winter of being "drawn back" north.
Oh well enough self pitying for one night. More to come I am sure.
